Michele attended Winthrop University where she played collegiate basketball and graduated with a BS in Biology. After graduation she attended Wake Forest University for two years where she obtained a Masters in Health and Sport Science followed by 4 years working at the University for a research study funded by the National Institute of Health for individuals with osteoarthritis in their knees. Michele then returned to school to obtain her Masters in Physical Therapy from Western Carolina University followed by her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences. Michele has spent her whole career focusing on treatment of orthopedic conditions for all body regions. Michele is a certified ASTYM and dry needling provider and has attended numerous continuing education classes in her career

When not practicing physical therapy, Michele spends much of her time training to compete in Adventure racing a multi-disciplinary sport involving running, mountain biking, canoe and kayak paddling, ropes, swimming and other challenges in which the races are typically done with three to four team members relying solely on map and compass navigation to get through the course. Michele has raced in about half the states in the United States, British Columbia, New Zealand and South Africa. Her team, Checkpoint Zero, has won the USARA Masters’ National Championship 6 times and was one of 66 teams from all over the world to be chosen to participate in the World’s Toughest Race in Fiji, which is currently airing on Amazon Prime Video.
